On July 17th 2004, in Kissimmee, Florida, seven guys (and five of their significant others) met to discuss the avenues and parameters to establish a Florida chapter of the National Desoto Club. Various topics were discussed regarding membership requirements, issues unique to the state of Florida and manners to further our desire to start this club. The Sunshine State Desoto Chapter was adopted as a name and a petition was signed by all seven NDC members present. The petition was hand delivered to the NDC Executive Board at the 2004 National Desoto Convention. We were granted chapter status in March 2005.
